Carpet pad is one of the common needs among your household appliances, since it give an extra benefit to the interior design.  The basic function of a carpet pad is to make your carpet last longer, but in the other side it will also make your carpet more ticker and comfortable especially during the winter; it will make the house warmer.

Basically, there are five basic types of carpet pad that are now available; they are waffle rubber, urethane foam, flat rubber, bonded urethane, and fiber cushion. Each type of the paddings is available in various thicknesses, so you can choose your own preferable item. Bonded urethane is the most common pad that is now used in many household. But even though it is famous around the costumers, people still concern about butylated hydroxy toluene (Bht) that contained in the pad.

The other type of carpet pad, such as flat rubber is not really popular because it is difficult to find and the price is extremely expensive. Waffle rubber has less durability than the other pad, while fiber cushion has unattractive performance. Urethane foam is considered as an outstanding pad; it is not only available in various thicknesses but it also has an outstanding performance and satisfying density.
