Knotty pine paneling is the most popular design for house in 1940’s until 1960’s. Most people use pine because the wood has a typical smell and light natural color.  Even though this type is usually use in the old house models, you can see this decoration also in this century in order to make the house look rustic, classic, natural and cozy place. Although this design is very unique, some people may not prefer the knotty pine design because of lack of information how to clean and care the knotty pine paneling.

Actually the caring of knotty pine is not as difficult as you thought. The big enemy of the knotty pine is humidity and moisture from the environment. Hence, you must pay more your attention about the air flow in your room. And then you can cover the surface with clear sealer to increase the knotty pine endurance from temperature change and humidity.

To clean the pine, you should use the wood cleaner. You cannot use another type of cleaner, because wood cleaner is specially made with special ingredient to increase the wood shine. You must use the sponge mop when apply the wood cleaner. Clean it gently starts from the top of knotty pine paneling to the bottom side.
